Feb 2023 - Flexible rugged Gbit Switch suitable for any Defense Application

The  µMAGBES Family is a 5 to 19-port manageable Gbit Ethernet switch of the 4th generation MPL switches. The solution is designed according MPL's design philosophy which includes flexibility, low power consumption, fanless, extended temperature capability, and long-term availability.  

The µMAGBES-MIL can be built extremely compact, therefore as most compact switch solution, e.g. MPL can offer a 10-port switch in an IP67 housing with two 38999 connectors in the size of 130 x 130 x 55 mm.  Hence it is the perfect SWaP-C switch solution and can be integrated in smallest space. Other housings and configurations are available, as shown below.

The µMAGBES-MIL comes with lockable headers to interface to 38999 connectors, suitable with any defense specification. If the solution needs one or more fiber ports, then this can be provided with a standard product available from MPL.

The standard input power requirement of the µMAGBES is 5-36VDC and the device uses less than 6W at full speed with 10 ports operational. Other input voltages can certainly be offered depending on specification. The switch can be operated in an environment of -20°C up to +60°C, and optionally -40°C to +85°C and does not need to be cooled by a fan.

The µMAGBES is designed to be operated in a Master-Slave configuration, making a flexible system with a cascaded switch easy. The solution is available with up to 19 ports or more, including a Command Line Interface (CLI) option.

All MPL products are designed for long-term availability and the µMAGBES will be available for at least 10 years. MPL's own component stock guarantees repairs for up to 20 years. Extended temperature ranges can be fulfilled and are tested in MPL's own climatic chambers according to customer's request.

The solution meets or exceeds the most common standards. Particular references are: MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1275 just to name a few.
