SERIF-1/2
Additional RS232 or RS485/422 module
The SERIF modules convert serial TTL signals coming from an UART (Universal Asynchronous
Receiver Transmitter) either to RS232 or RS485/422 level. The maximum possible data transfer
rate of the modules are 120 kbps for RS232 and 250 kbps for RS485/422. The external interface
is full ESD protected.
- On a PIP, up to two modules can be mounted (serial 2 and serial 4)
- The RS485/422 interface is completely galvanic isolated
- Modules are easily mountable and well fasten
- External signals (RS232 or RS485/422) are available on standard 9-pin D-SUB connector
- External interface is full ESD protected
Suitable for
The SERIF modules can be used in all Celeron M, Pentium M, and Core Duo based PIPs equipped with the
dual UART controller and the required SERIF module headers. For example, it works on all PIP9-11,
PIP10-1, PIP11-1, PIP20-1 just to name a few.
Restrictions
1. Not usable on PIP10-2
As the PIP10-2 is a depopulated standard product of MPL that does not include the dual UART and
SERIF module headers on board, no SERIF modules can be plugged on this product.
