Dual Display Expansion

The "(S)DVO Link to DVI module" (SDLD-1/DLD-1) offers the option to connect an additional (second) display to the PIP. Together with the Intel Embedded Graphics driver, it provides following graphical display output combinations:

• different display content (Dual Independent Display)
• identical display content (Display Clone)
• one expanded Desktop

The two connected displays can be identical or totally different (size, resolution, type). The module can be added/mounted easily on the on-board (S)DVO interface of the PIPs and can be used in all housings.

The solution still offers enough space for additional PC/104-Plus and/or PC/104 cards.

The combination of a PIP and SDLD-1/DLD-1 is a complete, compact, and clever solution for industrial applications that require two graphical display outputs. It offers a flexible, cost-efficient possibility to control two displays with one PC.

Suitable for

The SDLD-1 module can be used in all Core Duo based PIPs equipped with a sDVO interface. As example, it works on the PIP20-1 and PIP22-1.
The DLD-1 module can be used in all Celeron M and Pentium M based PIPs equipped with a DVO interface. As example, it works on all PIP9-11, PIP10-1, PIP10-2 just to name a few.

Restrictions

1. No 3D graphics capabilities on PIP10 platform
As the standard Graphics driver does not support the simultaneous operation of two TMDS transmitter, a special MPL AG adapted Intel Embedded Graphics driver has to be used together with the SDLD-1/DLD-1. Please be aware that on the PIP10 platform, this driver offers by design nearly no 3D graphics capabilities. On the PIP20 platform, 3D acceleration is supported.
2. No analog interface available
The expansion DVI connector on the SDLD-1/DLD-1 only supports the digital DVI interface (DVI-D). Therefore all displays requiring analog input signals do not work on the SDLD-1/DLD-1 (even a DVI to CRT adapter will not help).
3. Maximum LCD resolution
The SDLD-1/DLD-1 supports a maximum LCD resolution of up to 1920x1200 (WUXGA).
