BIOS Upgrade

BIOS upgrades are available as Windows executable program files. Running the downloaded .exe file on a Windows PC, allows you to create a bootable floppy containing a minimal FreeDOS installation, the BIOS image, and all tools required to update the BIOS. Booting this floppy on the MPL SBC will update the existing BIOS after the normal "Are you sure?" questions. Additionally, the BIOS update floppy allows you to backup the existing BIOS in case you want to revert the upgrade. Please refer to the BIOS user manual for more information.

Warning!
Please update the BIOS only if you are experiencing problems and you are sure that the new BIOS revision will solve it. Careless updating may result to more problems. If you are not sure about the implications, please contact MPL AG.

Please check your BIOS setup screen first, to make sure the MEV number of the currently used BIOS and the number of the BIOS upgrade matches!

If you can not find your MEV number on the list below, please contact to get the newest BIOS version. Please provide us with the precise product identifier, product serial number and your current BIOS MEV number.

In order to be able to use this package, you will need the Windows XP embedded development tools

The Windows XP embedded Support Package (WXPESP) consists of

• MPL PIP specific Macro Packages containing all Hardware dependencies required or optional for MPL PIP6, PIP7, PIP8, PIP9 and PIP10
• Repackaged Windows XP Drivers for all PIP hardware not contained in the standard distribution of Microsoft
• Demo projects for all Packaged Industrial PCs of MPL AG

The demo projects are distributed as stand alone SLX Definition files. The resulting images will be around 250 MB in size and represent a fairly complete starting base for your own projects. The Packages containing drivers and hardware dependencies have been organized as a "MPL Hardware Repository" for easy inclusion into the Windows XP Embedded data base and easy upgrade in the future.
